Moss was born in the heart of the Grunge invasion of the 1990's in a small village called Northport NY. Experimenting with 4 track and 8 track reel to reel recording in a swampy marshland known as The Mosscave the bands musical skills and writing were developed. The band later moved on to playing local shows and backyard parties, bars and festivals.Moss is a Three piece Rock trio The bands influences range from classic rock, alternative rock,grunge,heavy rock,punk ,pop,country,and reggae. With originality at its core it creates an eclectic sound that stands out.
The current lineup is original members Patrick stonefist leonard bass and vocals,Mark Riffkid hanna guitar and vocals . Wizkid Russel Mankid Castaldo drums is now the newest member. Mark hanna has played in various local acts over the years eventually performing with the Shanghai China progressive Rock act Cold Fairyland, Patrick leonard has played with different local bands over the years. Russel Castaldo studied drums with John sawiki the long-standing drummer for the Broadway show stomp.
